Moving to an 8,000 square foot space at 217 N. Carpenter in the West Loop, Chicago Artists Coalition (CAC) leaves its office  and gallery spaces at 2010 W. Pierce in Wicker Park less then two years after moving in.

Three remaining gallery shows of the current exhibiting artists group will begin in the new space on Carpenter beginning on June 10.

Cortney Lederer, Director of Exhibitions & Community Outreach, shared the excitement of CAC about moving into the former Flat File Gallery space, owned and operated by board member and photographer Susan Aurinko. "We will have nine studios with the potential of having up to thirteen artists in a work only residency program. The announcement of the winners, selected  from forty-three applicants who went through a juried procedure, will be made on June 1.

"The winners will have exhibition opportunities and an incubator environment. The incubator will consist of working with key leaders in arts in Chicago and beyond who will come in on an ongoing basis throughout the year to engage in studio critiques and workshops. Then I will be working with them to discuss their goals."
