Having served as the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce's (WPBCC) President of the Board for the last year, Pamela Maass (formerly McNeal) will take on her new role as its new Executive Director on Jan. 9, 2017.

“I've always been passionate about the WPB [Wicker Park and Bucktown] neighborhoods and am honored to bring my four years of experience with WPBCC to this new role.

"It will be an exciting start to 2017 as we activate our community's input with the Master Plan update, which will guide WPBCC and SSA #33 to programming innovations, deepen the artistic roots of our award-winning events and elevate the experience of traveling our corridors. I look forward to further collaborations with our neighboring communities to continually improve the quality of life for our residents and to promote commerce for the unique businesses that call WPB home,” says Maass.

David Stearns of L&L Development will move from WPBCC 's Board Vice President to President, effective immediately. A new President will be appointed in January.

“Pamela brings the experience, dedication and community knowledge that the Chamber was looking for to grow and expand its value and influence moving forward,” says Stearns. “We are thrilled to have her as our next Executive Director.”

In her role at the Chamber, Maass will be responsible for the administration of SSA #33 (Special Service Area) which contracts with the Chamber to be their service provider. "We're excited to see the lead position of our service provider filled and we look forward to working with Pamela," says Brent Norsman, Norsman Architects, Ltd., President of the SSA #33 Commissioners. "We have a multitude of exciting SSA #33 programs underway and planned for the future of our area, all of which are guided by our forward thinking 2016 Master Plan Update."

Maass has been with the Chicago Athletic Clubs (CAC), which has several health clubs in the area. She was part of the team that doubled the company's locations in just eight years from four to eight.

During her tenure at CAC, Maass developed company-wide improvements and collaborated with individuals, business owners and numerous organizations throughout Chicago.
