In response to a request from 1st Ward Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno to speak about the Chicago City Budget at their monthly meeting, the East Village Association's (EVA) had him on their agenda on Monday. However, a liquor moratorium and a withdrawn tavern proposal took center stage, during which Moreno called the group NIMBIES (plural of NIMBY "Not In My Back Yard") with bad leadership.

Loren said that the venue count is up to 13 and any donations to a local school will be through I Am 4 Kids.

Vote: membership: 10 in favor and 6 opposed; community members: 5 in favor and 2 opposed.

With visions of turkey baster wielding drunken pub revelers crawling and dancing in their heads, local residents attended the Wicker Park Committee (WPC) and/or the East Village Association (EVA) October meetings during this last week.
