Everywhere she turned in the main square of Kyiv (Kiev) during the Maidan in the Ukraine from Nov. 21 to Feb. 22, Dr. Natalia Moussienko saw art. She will tell that story in a presentation of Art of the Barricades ~ Voice of Ukraine, Sat. May 17, 7:30 p.m., Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art, 2320 W Chicago Ave., in Ukrainian Village.

From a series of town hall meetings, which included one in Wicker Park's A. N. Pritzker School, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) created two documents as a draft of Chicago's Cultural Plan 2012. These findings in the documents are being discussed in four public meetings.

The Near North West Arts Council (NNWAC) was founded by artists, teachers and social activists twenty-three years ago with a goal of building a network of resources supporting a vital, vibrant arts environment in the neighborhood. The establishment of the Wicker Park Art Center in the heart of Wicker Park is part of the goal.

Near NorthWest Arts Council (NNWAC) announces the renaming of their location from the St. Paul's Cultural Center to the Wicker Park Art Center at 2215 W. North Ave. in the heart of the Wicker Park Historic District.
