Commander Martin works closely with community residents through the District Advisory Council.

Commander Judith Martin heads up the 13th district.  A 26-year veteran of the Chicago Police Department, she stepped into her current position on March 16, 2008.

She reminds everyone on how to cut down on crime, "Lock your doors and windows. Do not leave keys in an unlocked vehicle. Do not leave valuables in your car.  It only takes 30 seconds for someone to remove property from a car." If you leave items visible in your car, it is better to leave your doors unlocked, she suggests, so you do not also have to pay for a boken window.

The District Advisory Council for the 13th is comprised of nine beats.  Each has a facilitator who serves on that council.  They meet monthly discussing district issues and reviewing expenditures of monies they have for community events and programs.

She encourages people to contact her directly with any concerns at Judith.Martin@ChicagoPolice.org.
