Flowers to you...enjoy

Wow what a year and it is not even Valentine's Day yet!

Hopefully you all have dug out...well at least so you can get to work and out for food. Now there are the warnings for the cold. Seriously, do NOT go out without adequate coverage and limit your time out. It is not just the exposure to your skin but also your lungs and the extra work your heart must do.

In addition to meeting the weather related challenges you have been meeting, we at Our Urban Times have been experiencing a very long list of "You have got to be kidding" experiences. Things that do not try ones soul and sanity but your life! No doubt you can relate if I use words like computer systems, security systems, A T & T, internet connectivity, sleep and the really big one ... electricity. Yep...we lost them all over the last three...or maybe four weeks. (It is hard to count when we are having so much f-u-n!)

And then there are the attempts to get through the labyrinth of instructions and buttons that are to lead you to help. And if you ever get to a live person, that is often worse then only experiencing mechanical voices. Any of you in comedy...you really should try this...it will give you a life time of material. Or those of you in mental health, your opportunities for increasing your client list can be directly relatable to A T & T customers alone.

Yesterday, when the Comcast cable dude left for the sixth time; I saw an error message on a computer server that no one else who is supposed to see those things had seen; and I actually had a couple of hours without the phone ringing, I thought that I was back on the road to sanity. This morning, I am not so sure.

But dear readers and supporters, we are working to catch up on writing our very long list of news and information stories as we continue to cover ongoing events. Our next email will have tons of political news and views and we encourage you to get to any forums or meetings you can. Meeting the candidates can help you in your decision making.

Your vote will make a difference in the Mayoral as well as in many of your Wards.

We encourage you also to:

  • let us know what you think about what you hear from candidates
  • send us great pictures from around the neighborhood
  • enter your events into our Calendar
  • contact us with any news tips
