There is good news, bad news and sometimes both

Our latest stories are a good reminder that there is always good news and bad news and sometimes both in one story.

On the good side, there are jobs waiting for applicants, if you are fluent in English and another language. Try to go to the FBI's Career Fair.

On the bad and good side is the closing of the Earwax Café. It has closed...that is bad. On the good side, you can use this site to add to the voices doing an omage to the twenty-one year old funky establishment that so many loved.

With Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis stepping down from his position today, it is nice to know that there is depth in protection for our area as reported with the Humboldt Park drug sweep and the follow-up legal action.

Performance art is abounding like never before as experienced at Defibrillator's second event in their awesome performing space on Milwaukee Ave.

Carron Little's Cleveland Dean story has broken all our records for views and comments. We encourage you to comment on any and all stories about which you have something to say or send us a Letter to the Editor on a totally different subject!  That is what Our Urban Times is intended to be....a place where community communicates!

While two shows are closing, we know there are others about to open, but you still have time to see Odradek and Bordello.

And the last good news for the moment, tomorrow's WBEZ event at Chopin should be lots of fun...hope to see you there!

Be sure to keep us informed about any news or information that you think to get out to people in our community. Let us know if you have questions about issues that effect you or your neighbors.

Thank you...
