Schwegel and Lambert set wedding date for October

Author Theresa Schwegel and ad copywriter and freelance journalist, Kevin Lambert recently announced their engagement. Residents of Ukrainian Village, they and their two dogs (Wynne and Wiley) are in the midst of a pre-wedding frenzy. They will be exchanging vows on October 23rd in Theresa's parents' home in Algonquin, IL. Later there will be parties in Phoenix, California and Vermont.

Currently they are juggling their pending nuptials with career and their new combined life commitments.  Theresa is working on her fifth novel and Kevin is settling into his position at SCHAWK! working on the Nike account while continuing to freelance for the Phoenix New Times and OC (Orange County) Weekly.

As fate would have it, along with a bit of match making help from Kevin's aunt, Katie Kennicott who is also a friend of the Schwegels, the two met in Phoenix in 2007. Living in California, Theresa was in Phoenix as part of a book tour.  Kevin, who lived there, was prompted by Katie to connect with her to show family support. The next year Theresa decided that she wanted to be closer to her family. Her parents Joyce and Don split their time between the family home in Algonquin and the Chicago lakefront. So, Theresa packed up her belongings in California and returned to "sweet home Chicago."

Though born and raised in Vermont by his parents Molly and Henry, Kevin, in 2009, decided that he too wanted to be closer to his extended family. When he moved to Chicago from Phoenix a little more than a year ago, Theresa and Kevin reconnected.  In October two closely knit families will be further enriched by this new pairing.
