Community Challenge: Aid fulfilling 2012 activities plan for Wicker Park

During an 80-minute special Wicker Park Advisory Council (WPAC) meeting, 20 participants set a 2012 activities plan. The challenge is to finalize the plans and line up funding and volunteers.

Wicker Park Choral Singers pair music with food and drink

"Eat, Drink & Be Merry" was the theme of the Wicker Park Choral Singers 2011 holiday concert in the Wicker Park Lutheran Church, Sat. , Dec. 10. The concert will be repeated on Fri., Dec. 16, in the Fourth Presbyterian Church on the Magnificent Mile at 12:10 (noon). Led by Mark Tomasino, founder and Artistic Director of the group, Tomasino shared conducting with Adam Schleinzer for two of the pieces.

Prasino to be a life style not a destination

Third generation Greek restaurateur Ted Maglaris at the Wicker Park opening of his newest prasino said, "I came to Wicker Park because of the community feel. I want this to be a life style not a once a month destination. We are organic and local (sourced)." Hours at 1846 W. Division are 7 a.m. to midnight. A 100 seat patio makes for spacious outdoor dining in good weather.

Near NorthWest Arts Council (NNWAC) announces the renaming of their location from the St. Paul's Cultural Center to the Wicker Park Art Center at 2215 W. North Ave. in the heart of the Wicker Park Historic District.

RoseAmong the Tuesday events at Cog Hill Golf Course& Country Club last week were The Professional Practice Rounds for the BMW Golf Championship Tournament. Regal white banners bellowing against a vivid blue sky set the tone, welcoming the golf spectators down a pathway of fun and entertainment.
