Dina Petrakis will discuss her work in documenting the year 2009 in Humboldt Park. The Park is located exactly one mile west of Wicker Park and is a living work of Jens Jensen (Prairie River, etc). She will give insight into her inspiration for the essay, planning process, difficulties of capturing the life cycle in various conditions (seasonal challenges), and how she choose the photos from her work for the exhibition.

A Year in Humboldt Park is on exhibit at Humboldt Park’s Boathouse from August 11- October 29. The Naturalist Photo Essay is curated by Candice Martens with collaboration by Gerald Ritchie. Repeating images of iconic Park views and individual photographs reflect the richness and diversity of a life cycle in the Park. See Details
