Be part of developing the 14th District's Community Policing Strategic Plan Wednesday…it is a first!

Commander Fabian Saldana, 14th District, invites everyone to be part of developing his district's new 2019 Plan

Residents of the 14th Police District have their chance to tell the police what they want to see happening in their district on Wed., Mar. 13. in the Holstein Park District Field House, 2200 N. Oakley, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Fabian Saldana, 14th Police District Commander, invites everyone to participate in this new strategy. This planning has occurred every year, but the public was not part of the process until now.

"Tables will be set up so people can talk in small groups with our officers recording what they want", explains CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategies) Sergeant Adam Henkels.

The multiple reports will be merged and a second meeting will be set up to go over what is compiled from those created on the 13th.. At this time they have tentatively set April 1st for the second meeting.

Community engagement is part of the actions to be taken under the Chicago Police Consent Decree, police district by police district. The report, Consent Decree Community Engagement, July 2018, goes into a great deal of details. But Wednesday night does not require anyone to read anything. What it does require is that everyone from your street shows up.

Light refreshments will be provided.
