Your vote for your favorite farmers market is a vote for a better economy
Date:
07/22/2011 "Our cherished working landscapes offer solutions to the most pressing environmental challenges we face today, from water pollution to climate change," according to the American Farmland Trust (AFT)*. In an effort to raise awareness about the importance of fresh foods and vegetables and farm sustainability for the health and economy of our country, AFT has a contest for America's Favorite Farmers Markets thru midnight Aug. 31, 2011.
The contest has four categories of vendors based on number of vendors at the market. The categories are Boutique (15 and fewer vendors), Small (16-30 vendors), Medium (31 - 55 vendors)and Large (56+ vendors). There will be winner in each category.
Participants may vote to support their favorite farmers markets and may vote for more than one, though they may vote only once per market.
Support farmers and their farms. Buy local and vote for your favorite market or markets. Click here to vote.
