Rabble Rabble at the Logan Square Monument

Summer in Chicago is all about music festivals, and this last weekend was no exception! Saturday kicked off the first of the free four concert series Summer Sessions on The Square at the Logan Square monument in Logan Square.

The lineup consisted of the popular local bands Rabble Rabble, Thin Hymns and L'Orchestre Super Vitesse. These free concerts will be happening at the Logan Square Monument the 4th Saturday of every month until September: July 23, Aug. 27 and Sept. 24.

Saturday was also day two of the Indoor Music Festival at MultiKulti, a community center located at 1000 N. Milwaukee. The festival featured thirteen bands over two days, as well as live painting by artists Rachael O'Flynn, Linda Malonis, and Mr. Bibbles. Saturdays show featured the bands Earring, The Earth Program, The Minneapolis Henrys, No Enemy, The Snacks and Patrick Thunder. Although the show got off to a late start, it was well attended and definitely worthwhile!

Multikulti and Quennect 4

Multikulti is a beautiful space, and this indoor music festival was wonderful. However, the name of the organization that threw this event is sorely missing. These music, and cultural events including the Indoor Music Festival are organized and promoted by Quennect 4, a collective of artists, musicians, and friends who come together to put these events on. The main catalyst of all these events is John Ibarra, the creative mind behind Quennect 4.

Summer Sessions on the Square

Thank you so much for posting this. I saw a ton of people at the monument last weekend--Saturday AND Sunday--while heading to other events and wondered what was happening. Now it all makes sense (for Saturday, at least). :)
