Barrymore "dishes" on himself and his famous siblings

The brother of Ethel (1879-1959) and Lionel (1878-1954), John (1882-1942) was part of the family that reigned supreme in the acting world in the early 1900s. He was hailed as the finest Shakespearean actor of his day and had record-making runs of Hamlet in both New York and London to prove it. In addition, he had a twenty-five year run in movies that produced some sixty films.

His life, which included four wives, three children, drugs and alcohol, provided writer Jason Miller much grist for hisĀ  tale of Barrymore's Ghost's. Deftly portrayed by Baumgartner, the audience is quickly drawn in to the nimble mind and sharp tongued John Barrymore.

The show begins at 8 p.m. at 1389 N. Milwaukee. Visit the website for more information or 773.227.7900 for reservations.
