Jeffery Baumgartner (l) and Alderman Rey Colon talk after Baumgartner's portrayal of Shakespeare

After his excellent portrayal of William Shakespeare in Shakespeare's Roses, a one man show by Dan Decker, Jeffery Baumgartner, out of costume, talks with Rey Colon, 35th Ward Alderman, about future possibilities for Chicago City Creatives (CCC).

Baumgartner, the cast and director of this production, and his partner in CCC Diann Squiers, Stage Manager for this show, have a "pop up" venue at 2955 W. Lyndale St. (corner at Sacramento) in Logan Square for Chicago Artists Month. True to their CCC mission, they have had a collage of disciplines participate in the month long celebration of artists in Chicago.

Both Baumgartner and Squiers are resident artists in Wicker Park's Flat Iron Building. His studio is JB ArtWorks and hers is Diann's PhotoArt.

Shakespeare's Roses has three more performances at 8 p.m., Oct. 28 - 30.  Tickets are $20 at the door and $15 with reservations.  For more information see their website.

Alderman Colon said, "I can not believe that I could see this great show just down the block from my home." This writer says, "It is a winner, check it out."
