Subway employee's murderer seen in photo

A photo has just been released of the man who killed Subway employee, 54-year-old Lyn Ward in the restaurant on the 1100 block of north Western Ave. on Feb. 9 at just before 8:48 p.m.

Described as  a 30 to 40-year-old black male with a medium complexion and build, between 5 feet 7 to 9-inches tall, the offender is seen in the photo wearing light-colored jeans, a dark-colored ski hat, white gym shoes with black trim, and a three-quarter -length tan colored jacket with a fur trimmed hood. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The suspect walked into the restaurant and announced a robbery. Ward attempted to run out a backdoor when the robber shot  her in the neck with a chrome-colored, short barreled revolver. Ordering another employee to open the register and remove some cash, The robber/shooter fled south on Western Ave.

Ward was pronounced dead at Cook County's John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital on Friday morning.
