Why may you soon lose city, county, state and federal services and representation?

As you can see in this chart, participation in Our Urban Times coverage area for the 2020 Census count needs to be a lot better as illustrated above

Funding for everything from street cleaning and rat baiting to governmental representation locally and up to the United States Congress happen based on population. The population is counted in the United States by a Census every 10 years.

You and your household need to be counted in the 2020 Census. If your household falls in the "Uncounted" column above, funding will be less than needed for the actual population. The number of people representing the building you live in, the block you live on and the ward you live in will not be fairly represented and will not receive enough services.

If you or someone in your household has not filled out the very simple, easy form that states who lived in your household on April 1, 2020, PLEASE CLICK HERE

Everyone living in your household on April 1, 2020, documented or not, needs to be counted on your Census Form by you, or whoever fills it out for your household.

The City of Chicago is committed to helping every Chicagoan participate in the 2020 Census. The City pledges to:

  1. Ensure a fair, complete and accurate count of every individual living in Chicago.
  2. Develop culturally-appropriate strategies for hard-to-count populations.
  3. Mobilize resources in an inclusive manner for census hiring, public engagement, and outreach.
  4. Ensure digital access and equity during the first census when a majority of Chicagoans will be invited to respond online.

However, despite Mayor Lori Lightfoot and her administration's determination to get an accurate count, ONLY YOU can make the count complete.
