Tired of paying lots for natural, organic sauces and soups? Crave the exquisite flavor and color of summer veggies in mid-winter? Come learn how to can your produce and goodies in those glass jars that allow you to enjoy the food even when you're not eating it!

The workshop, held in a beautiful Wicker Park kitchen, will demonstrate the cold-pack water bath method, for preserving vegetables from your garden, and any non-meat sauces and goodies you create from them! We'll put up a batch of homemade spaghetti sauce or southwestern style posole (depending on this season's garden production) and have a light meal of the same while the batch processes. You'll leave with information handouts, a quart of homemade goodies (serves 2), and the know-how to get started!
