Thoughtful request is being given to Santa


Wagon is taking on a new group of riders

The lack of snow on Saturday, Dec. 13, did not reduce the crowds or the holiday spirits at Commercial Park's annual Advisory Council holiday event, 1845 W. Rice St. 

Many lined up for the free horse-drawn wagon rides as well as to tell Santa what they really, really want for Christmas!

Deborah Milkowski, who annually is the head elf gift buyer and giver, reports that there were 476 gifts this year sorted by ages and genders for Santa's visitors. 


Santa listened to lots of requests of children of all ages. If you are curious about what it is like for Santa on that very special day, you can ask Sergeant Juan Clas from the 12th Police District. This reporter has been told that he has a direct line to the North Pole! 

Music was ever present in the gymnasium as the kids and parents enjoyed crafts and entertainment plus candy canes.
