DUI Patrol and BAT mobile on 14th District streets this weekend

Chicago Police Department's 14th District map shows their beats

The Chicago Police Department's 14th District will be conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol this weekend.

Deployed with speed detection equipment, roving police cars are on the lookout for signs of impaired driving.

In their patrols they place emphasis on speed, alcohol-related and safety belt violations.

In addition, the Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) Mobile Unit may also be deployed. This unit is able to expedite the process of charging a person with Driving Under the Influence (DUI) prior to taking the alleged violator to the nearest lockup for bonding.

The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site of the DUI stop.

The DUI Patrol will take place Sat., Jan. 26, from 7 p.m. to Sun., Jan. 27, at 3 a.m.
