Blackhawk hovers as it begins departure from Humboldt Park.

Seeing a Sikorsky UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter in the middle of a grassy field in Humboldt Park is not what one expects but thousands of people not only saw it but were able to be in and around it Tuesday evening during the 14th Police District's National Night Out event.

Two captains from Aviation Support out of the National Guard headquarters at Midway Airport provided the unique "bird" experience. Miguel Cisneros, an officer in the 14th Police District and a National Guardsman, coordinated the Guard's presence which also included LMTV and FMTV motor vehicles and a howitzer as well as personnel.

While almost half of the Made U Look Classics Car Club displayed their vintage cars in Humboldt Park, Smith Park had the other half.  Johnny Estrada, a police officer in the 13th District, coordinated the car "rally".  The proud owner of two cars, he had his 1967 Chevy on display.  Originally a six cylinder, it is now a V-8. Added accessories make it a cloned Super Sport.

By the time they all arrived, there were eight cars and their owners giving area residents and visitors a chance to examine the result of hours of work.
