No bond for man charged with aggravated attempted car hijacking

A 19 year-old man from the 600 block of N. Kedzie was denied bond for a Jan. 15 armed robbery and attempted aggravated carjacking. 

At approximately 9 p.m. on Jan. 15, Jesse Davis, the offender, was the passenger in a ride share vehicle on the 600 block of N. Albany. He displayed a handgun and demanded the 64 year-old male driver's personal property and vehicle. Davis struck the victim in the head and took the keys to the victim's vehicle then fled on foot. 

The victim was transported to Norwegian American Hospital, 1044 N Francisco Ave. 

A video led to Davis' arrest at his residence by 12th District Officers, Area Central Detectives and Area Central Mission Teams. He was later charged with one felony count of Armed Robbery With a Firearm and one felony count of Attempt Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking with a Firearm. 

Denied bail on Jan. 17, Davis' next court date is Jan. 23. No additional details are available at this time.
