One killed two wounded on The 606 in Logan Square

Just minutes after the holiday weekend was officially over, shots rang out on The 606, in Logan Square.

One person was killed and two were wounded in the 1800 block of North Monticello at 12:12 a.m., Tues., May 28.

A trio of unknown male Hispanics approached two men and one woman walking together along the trail, according to the Chicago Police Department. The trio asked them their gang affiliation then displayed weapons and began shooting, striking each of the three victims. 

The offenders fled eastbound on foot. None of the victims appear to be known to police. 

Pronounced dead at Norwegian American Hospital, 1044 N Francisco Ave, was a 22-year-old man who was shot in the chest and back. 

A 20-year-old man was shot in the lower backside and was taken in stable condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, 1969 W Ogden Ave. 

The 19-year-old woman was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, 1500 S Fairfield Ave., in critical condition, with a gunshot wound to the stomach. 

Area North detectives are investigating.
