Police Alert: Person of interest wanted regarding homicide of police officer

Police Officer Michael Bailey was at his residence washing his vehicle on Sun., July 18 in the 7400 block of South Evans, at approximately 6:00 a.m. An unknown person approached him and shot him with a handgun. Police Officer Bailey later died of his wounds.

Recent information has led to a description of a person fleeing the crime scene. Described as a male black, 18 to 24 years of age, approximately 6'0" tall and 160 pounds, the person has a medium dark complexion and a short fade haircut. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jean shorts with a long brown/orange-colored belt hanging from his pants.
