Police Alert: Robberies in alley


Chicago Police Department's 12th District warns about robberies in the alley in Beat 1211. 

The victims were in or near their vehicle when the offenders roll up in a vehicle. Offenders get out then display handguns and demand the victims' property. They return to their vehicle and flee the scene. 

In one incident there were three offenders described as:

  • Offender # 1: Male, African American, between 16 and 20, 5'10" to 6' in height and weighing between 150 - 170 pounds. Hair was medium with a brown complexion and he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
  • Offender # 2: Male, African American,between 16 and 20, 5'10" to 6' in height and weighing between 150 - 170 pounds with a medium brown complexion.
  • Offender # 3: Male, African American, between 16 and 20 with a medium brown complexion.
In the other incident, there were two offenders.

Offender # 1: Male in his 20s wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt He had a tattoo on top of his right wrist.

Offender # 2: Male, 19, in a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. 

Incidents and Locations

  • 1000 block of N. Campbell Ave. on Mon., Mar. 11, at 7:07 p.m.
  • 1100 block of N. Mozart St., Wed., Mar. 27, at 8:30 p.m.

What you can do

  1. Always be aware of your surroundings
  2. Report suspicious activity immediately
  3. If you are confronted by an assailant remain calm
  4. Remember any unique physical characteristics (scars, limp, acne, teeth, etc...)
  5. Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police
  6. If video surveillance equipment is present, please save a copy of the incident for investigating detectives
  7. If approached by a witness to the incident, request contact information
  8. Dial 9-1-1 immediately and remain on scene when possible
