12th District Station at 1412 S. Blue Island

The Chicago Police Department (CPD) 12th District will partner with the community in the second "Community Conversation" for determining the District's 2020 Strategic Plans. It will be in Fosco Park, 1312 S. Racine, from 6 to 8 p.m., Tues., Nov. 5. There is parking on the street and in a lot. The 12th District station is close by at 1412 S. Blue Island.

12th District's first session 2020 strategy meeting

Three 2020 strategies were determined as a result of the first planning session on Oct. 15. According to the 12th's Sergeant Andrew Doerge, they are:

  • Narcotics sales
  • Theft from auto
  • Package thefts

Further refinement of these topics will be the major part of the evening's discussions.

However, there will be another topic up for discussion. That is to be community directed on community engagement.

In the second year of this police and residents partnership, CPD appears to be focusing more on civilians engaging in planning.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in their District's event which will set the focus for their district strategies for 2020.

The 14th District's event will be held on Nov. 15, back at Concord Music Hall, 2047 N Milwaukee Ave.

Participation in these events is like voting. Outcomes are determined by you.
