Two charged in East Village car hijacking

Related to a carjacking in East Village on Apr. 8, two offenders with records have been charged.


Gino Dameron

Gino Dameron, 24, was charged with two felony counts: Unlawful Use of Weapon by Felon. Dameron is from the 400 block of E. 157th, Calumet City.  

With an open warrant for parole violation, Marleak Ousley, 20, 157th 0-100 block of W. 43rd, Chicago, was charged with one felony count: Aggravated Possession Stolen Motor Vehicle and one felony count: Aggravated Fleeing/Police/21 MPH.

In the 1500 block of W. Augusta Blvd. at 1:05 a.m. on Sun., Apr. 7, a 25-year-old woman was loading items into her car on the passenger side. An unknown male offender got into the driver's seat and drove off in her gray 2012 Audi Q5. She was not hurt.

The next day, Apr. 8, at 5 p.m., officers investigating the hijacking, spotted the Audi in the 5500 block of S. Princeton and followed it. Attempts to pull the car over resulted in the offenders crashing the car after a brief pursuit. These two offenders in the stolen car were placed into custody. There were no reported injuries as a result of the crash.
