Two offenders charged in Logan Square shooting and chase

A 43-year-old male was shot multiple times in a car located behind a funeral home in the 3300 block of W. Armitage on Jan. 21 at approximately 8:35 p.m. Two men were charged with a total of 10 counts on Jan. 24.

Following the shooting, officers, including 14th District officers, pursued the offenders vehicle west, south and north during which time offenders fired at the police. 

Three were taken into custody in the 4400 block of N. Western Ave. One was released without charges, per the State's attorney. Marcial Arriaga, 26, from the 4800 block of N. Talman Ave. was charged with one felony count of Aggravated Fleeing and five counts for Associated Traffic Violations.

Josue Becerra, 24, from the 5400 block of N. Artesian Ave., was charged with one felony count of Attempted Murder, one felony count of Aggravated Battery, one felony count of Aggravated Assault and one felony count of Unlawful Use of Weapon. 

The victim is still listed in critical condition. 

Becerra is to be in bond court on Jan. 27 on a $100,000 bond.
