Woman punched in face walking into convenient store at Milwaukee and Concord

Offender walks out as victim waits to enter store

Unprovoked, a 30-year-old woman, walking into a convenient store, was punched in the face Tuesday morning at approximately 10:23 a.m. by a stranger, according to the Chicago Police Department's (CPD) Officer Laura Amezaga.

The woman was treated on the scene by the Chicago Fire Department according to CPD. The offender is described as a 35 to 40-year-old Black male.

As seen in the video, the offender walks into the 7-Eleven store, 1658 N Milwaukee Ave., near Concord Place, looks around, sees the woman about to enter the convenience store and goes out the door. Appearing to hold the door for the victim, he knocks her to the ground with a punch to the face.

The victim told CBS' Audrina Bigos, Wednesday night, that her nose is broken in several places and may need surgery.

This was a heinous unprovoked attack on an innocent shopper and we hope the offender is caught and brought to justice," says Steve Jensen, President of the Bucktown Community Organization (BCO).

This is an ongoing investigation and no one is in custody.
