Angeline Olivares made her appearance 6:53 a.m. on Jan. 1, as the first baby born in 2013 at Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center (PSMEMC), 2233 W. Division, in Ukrainian Village.
Parents of three other children, Faviola and Leodardo Olivares are from Chicago’s Humboldt Park area.
Thana Tarsha, M.D., delivered the baby, along with help from The Family Birthplace. To celebrate the New Year’s Day arrival, the nurses presented the new mom, dad and baby with a gift basket filled with such goodies as blankets, clothing, bibs, booties and more.
