There are some very hard working officers assigned to this district, a mix of newer and veteran officers. From the day I arrived I have seen on a daily basis dedicated officers trying to make a difference," states Escalante.
With a look toward the new year, Escalante encourages more participation by residents and business people, "I would encourage everyone who has a vested interest in the area, including residents and business owners to try and attend a beat meeting for the upcoming year. The beat meetings are a tremendous source of information not just on crime or community concerns, but also about upcoming CAPS or city sponsored events.
The first six months of my assignment here have had their share of long and frustrating days but it has been rewarding. I'm looking forward to the opportunities we have to continue to work with and for the community in 2010."
