“Distirrbed Not Shaken,” featuring the fanciful nightlife paintings of Chicago artist Laura Lee Junge, opens Friday March 15 with a unique ‘twist’.

The solo exhibit at Jackson Junge Gallery, 1389 N. Milwaukee Ave. will run from the March 15 opening (7pm-11pm) thru May 5, 2013.

For the occasion, Junge introduces two new paintings in the ‘nightlife’ genre, to complete a series of capricious and whimsical work six years in the ‘brewing.’

Opening on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at 7 pm, the Ukrainian National Museum features the paintings of a young Chicago artist, Volodymyr Ilchyshyn. This is the second exhibit by Ilchyshyn at the Ukrainian National Museum. The works featured display still life, cityscapes and landscapes, and include portraits. This exhibit continues through February 24th, 2013. Born in Ukraine but raised in Chicago, Volodymyr Ilchyshyn is a young artist who is an energetic member of the Ukrainian Village community.

The exhibition of classical art is dedicated to the memory of Roxolana Skobleska Pomeroy, the great granddaughter of the famous Galician poet, writer, and public figure, Father Mykola Ustyianowycz.

ART: A DIALOGUE Eddwin Meyers, Jordan Ivanov, Vassi Vasevski Opens Friday, December 7, 2012 at 7:00 pm and continues through December 31, 2012.

Eddwin Meyes received his Master of Fine Arts in 1981 from the Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. He has studied in Vermeil sur Seine, France, New York and Illinois. He is currently a Professor of Art at The Illinois Institute of Art, Chicago, IL where he has taught since 2000.

Park Schreck Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming show Everything Encaustic, with an opening reception on Fri., Nov. 2, 7 - 10 p.m.

Everything Encaustic will be a visually stimulating new show featuring artists working in encaustic painting. This technique involves mixing pigments in heated wax which are then applied to a surface. This art form has been used for centuries and may even date back to the Egyptians!

Mark MacKinnon exhibited with Park Schreck Gallery last year. The response to his work was so great that it was a given that he would show again at the gallery. Mark is a master at taking photos of picturesque vistas or objects and turning those photographs into amazing pieces of art!
