The Ukrainian National Museum Young Professionals invite you to attend one of the Pysanka Workshops offered at the Ukrainian National Museum. Ukrainian Easter Egg workshop -

Intermediate Class: Sat March 24th, 2012

Workshop begins at 10:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm under the instruction of pysanka artist, Mrs. Vera Samycia. Two separate workshops are offered to accommodate more participants.

Cost: $35 (includes supplies and lunch) Space is limited. Adults and children over the age of 12 can register for the workshop.

Group show of Bulgarian Artists Abroad opens on Friday March 2, 2012 at 7 pm at the Ukrainian National Museum and will continue will through March 25, 2012.

The Bulgarian Artists Abroad is a non-for profit organization founded in 2007 in Chicago by a few Bulgarian born artists. Opening reception will include a performance of Bulgarian national dances by assemble "Horo"- Chicago.

A story of Ukrainian Refugees in Europe 1945 - 1952,” the exhibit opened on Friday, November 4, 2011 and continues through January 31, 2012.

Having survived the brutal and bloody turmoil of World War II, Ukrainian refugees found themselves in DP camps facing an uncertain future. Housed in cramped military barracks and war ravaged buildings, their sustenance was crude and dismal. Many who faced forced repatriation to the Soviet Union with the certainty of torture, exile or death, chose suicide.

The Ukrainian National Museum invites you its new exhibit “From DP to DC, Displaced Persons: A story of Ukrainian Refugees in Europe 1945 - 1952.” The exhibit opens on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 7 pm.

Guest speakers and authors Dr. Mark Wyman, Dr. Lubomyr Luciuk and Dr. Myron Kuropas are scheduled during the opening weekend’s special events concluding Sunday, November 6, 2011.

Ticket Information: Opening Weekend Admission (Nov 4 thru 6, 2011): $20 per person, $10 for current Museum members, children under 12 free with parent.

Opening Benefit- A Year in Humboldt Park at Birchwood Kitchen, for Co-op Image

In celebration of Chicago Artists Month, A Year in Humboldt Park's opening will be Monday, October 3rd at Birchwood Kitchen, 2211 W. North Avenue, 6-8PM. The opening will benefit Co-op Image. Suggested donation is $5. Proceeds will go to Co-op's hot glass art programs for youth in Humboldt Park. We'll have nosh by Birchwood- some featuring Co-op products (yes, this is the group that makes Co-op Hot Sauce!), and silent auction with lots of good deals from Wicker Park and Bucktown businesses!
