Blue Line weekend changes and O'Hare long term changes--no direct overnight trains to O'Hare

The Chicago Transit Authority has big news for Blue Line Service to O'Hare with no end date. In addition there are weekend service changes. 

Boarding change between Harlem (O’Hare branch) and Rosemont 

On Fri, July 31 and  Sat., Aug. 1

Nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. next day
9 p.m. Fri. to 6 a.m. Sat.

Board and exit all trains on the Forest Park-bound side of the platform at the Cumberland station. 

9 p.m. Sat. to 6 a.m. Sun.

Board and exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Cumberland station. 

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Harlem (O’Hare branch) and Rosemont, resulting in minor delays. The CTA recommends allowing extra time for travel. 

No overnight train departures from O’Hare station.

Starting  Sat., Aug. 1, each night until further notice

From midnight to 4 a.m. next day 

Additional cleaning of trains is the reason for this change. There will be no Blue Line train service from O’Hare to Rosemont, from midnight to 4 a.m. 

Overnight service to O’Hare
Blue Line trains will continue to run to O’Hare at all times, serving airport workers who begin late night/early morning shifts and others who are using the airport for business or travel. 

Overnight service from O’Hare
Shuttle buses will run from O’Hare to Rosemont where riders can connect to continuing train service. Trains will begin trips at Rosemont for service toward downtown and Forest Park. Standard fare required.
