WPB (SSA#33) ticks off another transportation to do… with more to come
The WPB (SSA#33) has two bike rack solutions scheduled within their Wicker Park and Bucktown boundaries, accomplishing another item on their Master Plan.
One rack design is a simple tubing that will be used in their first on-street bike parking installation on Milwaukee Ave. by the Flat-Iron Building.
Taking the place of one car length, six bright orange colored racks will accommodate two bikes each, totaling twelve.
This installation culminates a multi-year process with the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT). Celebrating the accomplishment, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 29 at 5 p.m. which will include 1st Ward Alderman Proco "Joe" Moreno.
As WPB Program Manager, Eleanor Mayer says, "We are extremely excited to unveil this new site to our stakeholders."
The second rack clearly displays a WPB brand in design and color. Pictured on the left, they will begin appearing soon throughout the WPB service area. Also accommodating two bikes per rack, they will be located on sidewalks as single installations.
