UPDATED:
A discussion on graffiti with Aldermen Proco "Joe" Moreno, 1st Ward, and Scott Waguespack, 32nd Ward will be held Wed., Mar. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bucktown/Wicker Park Library, 1701 N. Milwaukee.

OUT learned this morning that this meeting began at the suggestion of Sandy Johnson, CAPS 1434's facilitator. At their meeting last month, graffiti was the main topic of discussion thus, she thought it would be a good topic for an extra discussion. Due to budget cuts, their CAPS group's regular meetings are now every other month.

Both Aldermen and Sandy will lead the discussion, be sure to join in.

Graffiti art on an old back

Graffiti art on an old back of a building is one thing, to pour acid on a small businesses windows is not art or even graffiti. Those who think it is worth it to spend thousands of dollars to replace windows at the same places the taggers eat are mindless idiots.

GRAFFITI IS HERE

YOU IDIOTS, GRAFFITI IS NEVER GOING TO STOP....SO GET IT INTO YOUR THICK YUPPIED BRAINS!! YOUR JUST GOING TO MAKE THE SITUATION WORSE.!!

Graffiti

GRAFFITI on private property is VANDALISM. Do not confuse tagging with "graffiti art." Tagging servers no purpose, other than to gratify the ego of the tagger. It costs businesses, residents and the city of Chicago millions of dollars annually to remove this unwanted blight.

S

Why don't they spend their time and money on something that actually helps citizens of Chicago instead of insecure suburbanites that think graffiti is actually a real crime and leads to other crimes which is some sort of suburban soccer mom theory. Get real! help homeless people, families that are struggling to feed children, stop real drug dealers and gangs not harmless graffiti writers.

graffiti has been a

graffiti has been a subculture in American for over twenty years.. Chicago is a big city in the US. New York is also a big city in the US, filled with graffiti. What makes this alderman think that Chicago is not sharing this subculture being the big city that it is. If graffiti has been around for over twenty years in this city alone, how will one alderman change a whole cultures way of thinking and expressing themselves. Good try though, but it's not going to work.

not

gonna win, not gonna change..pointless..haha

Graffiti Meeting

Perhaps other Aldermen can learn from Alderman Moreno!! :-) Editor's Note: Please see update on story.
