Great opportunity for teens and adults at the Chicago Police Department's 12th District on Saturday

02/25/2015 Teenagers and adults are invited to an Open House Sat., Feb. 28, at the Chicago Police Department's 12th District, 1412 S. Blue Island, Community Room, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The event is for the Police Explorer and Peer Jury programs. All teens can receive Community Service Hour credit for participating in these programs.
Open House attendees will be able to learn about each program and submit an application.
To qualify as an Explorer the applicant must:
• Be 12 to 20 years of age
• Be in school (a grade point average may be required once entering the
program)
• Have proper identification
• Must pass a background check
To qualify as a volunteer in the Explorer Program applicants must:
• Have proper identification
• Must pass a background check
To qualify as a Peer Jury member the applicant must:
• Be 13 to 20 years of age
• Be in school (a grade point average may be required once
entering the program)
• Have proper identification
• Must pass a background check
Adults wishing to volunteer for either the Police Explorer Program or the Peer Jury Program are asked to contact the 12th District Community Policing Office at 312.746.8306.
The 12th District is partnering with the 10th and 11th Districts in these programs.
