New Wicker Park Farmers Market pickup is new site for charity drop off

The 2020-2021 winter Wicker Park Farmers Market (WPFM) has not only changed from an in-person experience to ordering online with a contactless pick-up, but it is serving as a drop-off site for the Ukrainian Village Mutual Aid Fund. Pick-up drive-up operations are on Sundays between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the alley behind 1414 N. Ashland Ave.

Alice Howe brings order to a waiting shopper

Responding to the challenges of life during a pandemic, Alice Howe, Manager, Wicker Park Farmers Market, established a partnership with WhatsGood. They provide the website for local vendors to put up what they are offering for the next market.

At 8 a.m. on Monday, vendors can place their offerings for the pickup on the upcoming Sunday. Orders must be placed by midnight Friday when all the items are deleted from the site.

Product selection online is straight forward. Shoppers may select to see all products available for the next pickup or by one of 13 categories. Another way to look at products is by selecting to see all vendors. By clicking on a vendor, the shopper may view all that vendor's products.

Once a shopper is finished, they check out and pay online. Pickup is equally simple too. Access the alley for the pickup from Blackhawk. Shoppers text their arrival as they go north along the alley. Alice appear with their order.

Having picked up groceries or dropped off donations, all cars take a right toward Ashland Ave.
