Missing your weekend Farmers Markets? There is a solution.

Logan Square and Wicker Park farmers are offering a variety of fresh produce, meats and other foods from their farms via their virtual markets and delivering your orders around the area.

While Logan Square has an uncertain start date, their virtual market has many offerings. Some are offering CSA* (Community Supported Agriculture) signups. They also have a complete list of their vendors with links to their websites.

Wicker Park plans to open on July 5, but in the meantime their vendors may be reached virtually.

Three of their vendors Iron Creek Organic FarmSeedling Fruit Farm and Petals Farm are taking orders online and delivering them at Big Star on Sunday mornings for pickup.

"Supporting our farmers is really important," says Alice Howe, Wicker Park Farmers Market Manager. "This is the time of year they take in most of their annual income."

"They have to get their food to market when it is ready," explains Jessica Wobbekind, Executive Director of the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce, which produces their market. "There is no way that most of them can keep their food to be sold later."

*A CSA is a membership program that connects the vendor with residents. Covering a specific number of weeks/months, each customer receives a box of fresh product straight from the farm each week/month. The membership is generally offered in three different box sizes (small, medium and large).
