Norwegian American Hospital Welcomes their new CIO
Stephen DePooter is now the new chief information officer (CIO) at Norwegian American Hospital.
In his new position DePooter will direct and manage computing and information technology strategic plans, policies and programs for data processing, computer services, network communications, and management information services to accomplish corporate goals and objectives for the Hospital.
Dr. Abha, COO/CMO of Norwegian American Hospital says "Stephen is joining our team at a time when information technology is vital to providing high quality care."
DePooter used to work for the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family services were he was the chief information officer and chief information security officer for the past four years.
Before his time at the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family, he worked as the chief information officer for the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs.
He has also has earned his bachelor's and master's degrees at University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana. Additionally, DePooter is certified as a Medicaid Professional II, Federal Information Security Management Act, and IT project management.
