Chicago Library closings and openings

In the final step of installing an emergency generator, the Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Library Center building, 400 S. State St., is closed until Sunday, Dec. 28.

This work is a TIF-funded project,to be completed by the end of the year. will "provide for greater public safety," according to Leland Elder, Jr., Library Press Office.

All libraries will be open on Wed., Dec. 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be closed all day on Thurs., Jan. 1, 2015.
