Last blast of summer in Wicker Park Sunday: Symphony Sounds String Quartet


Sarah Marsh, Dominic Johnson, Ryan Loeckel and Julia Birnbaum consistently perform magnificently and are fun off stage

While fall and winter will be filled with fun events in Wicker Park, the Symphony Sounds String Quartet's concert from 11 a.m. to 12:30 pm. on Sun., Sept. 12, in Schiller Grove at the corner of Schiller and Damen, will be their final concert for the 2015 summer season. 


It is not just humans that enjoy concerts in Wicker Park

With the theme of Earth - Water - Air - Fire, the first half of their program will include Johann Sebastian Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 (Air), Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons (Winter), George Frideric Handel's The Water Music Suite and Music for the Royal Fireworks

The second half of the program they will be Jammin' Jazz Standards with "It's Only A Paper Moon," "It Had To Be You," "Bye Bye Blackbird," "Blue Moon, Take Five," "How High The Moon" and "A Day In The Life Of A Fool."

Performing in this concert will be the groups leader, cellist Sarah Marsh,Violinists Julia Birnbaum and Ryan Loeckel and violist Dominic Johnson. 

Chairs and grass are provided but music lovers will need to bring their own blankets and food. Wicker Park Farmers Market will have vendors that may be just the answer for those who do not want to do-it-yourself in the food department.
