Divvy stations were installed in 75 sites this week. Friday, June 28, the bikes were distributed. Two locations in our area are on Pierce at Damen in Wicker Park as well as by East Village's Wells High School on the August side.

3 stabbed in East Ukrainian Village

According to Chicago Police reports, authorities were called to an East Ukrainian Village residence in the 800 block of North Wolcott Ave., at 6:30 a.m. , where three were stabbed.

A man and woman in their 20s were stabbed by a 30 something male offender. The victims were in serious condition and taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. The offender was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.

New tactics in 12th Police District results in crime reduction

After the merger of the 13th Police District into the 12th and Melissa Staples became the Commander of the "new" 12th, she implemented three teams to concentrate on specific crimes. Crime stats are showing reductions in these areas.
