CPD patrols will be looking for impaired drivers this weekend: Don't drink and drive

Both Friday and Saturday nights, Chicago Police Department (CPD) officers in the 12th and 14th Districts will be patrolling for drivers who have been drinking.

While roving their district, they will be monitoring traffic for signs of impaired driving and will be checking for speeding as well as safety belt violations.

A BAT (Breath Alcohol Testing) Mobile Unit may also be deployed to allow officers to expedite charging a person with Driving under the Influence (DUI) prior to transporting them into the nearest lockup for bonding.

The mobile unit also allows for Individual Recognizance Bonds (I-Bonds) to be issued at the site.

In the 12th District patrols will be roving from Fri., June 5, 7 p.m. to Sat., June 6 at 3 a.m.

The 14th District patrols will be roving from Sat., June 6, 7 p.m. to Sun., June 7 at 3 a.m.

Be safe out there and drive responsibly.
