Man shot in Airbnb on Milwaukee Ave. in Wicker Park

At 1:38 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Ave., a 30-year-old man was shot in his left thigh, according to the Chicago Police Department. The unit is reported to be a in a pricey Airbnb apartment. 

The victim was in a physical altercation with an unknown black male described as 5' 2" in height with shoulder-length dreadlocks. He was wearing black pants, a black t-shirt with a colorful logo. The offender displayed a weapon and shot the victim in the leg. 

Transported to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, 1969 Ogden Ave. by ambulance in fair condition, the victim is known to the police. The offender is not in custody. 

Area Five Detectives are investigating. 

According to a report in CWB Chicago, a witness reported seeing investigators entering a stairwell and concentrating around the second-floor unit at 1478 N. Milwaukee Ave. 

CPD evidence technicians recovered a shell casing from under the unit’s refrigerator. In addition, they appeared to retrieve parts of a gun and discarded hair weaves from a stairwell.

A two-floor Airbnb from Bangtel offers a Hawaiian experience including swordfish and flamingos in two different units or both units as “Aloha Mothership,” with the Blue Line running behind the building.

One unit is promoted as a "palatial brand redesigned layout specifically for the Bachelor(ette) party of your dreams" with beds for "19 actual heads." The other has space for ten more, giving    space for 29 total. One Friday night in September for the total package would cost $4455.38, or $2136 for Aloha 2.0.
