Robberies and residential and garage burglary alerts from the 14th CPD District


In Wicker Park, Humboldt Park and Logan Square during November in the Chicago Police Department's 14th District, robberies as well as residential and garage burglaries have dotted the area.

In the first two robbery incidents, the offender grabbed the victim and took the victim's wallet and cell phone, then fled on foot. 

In the last two incidents, the offender was wearing a ski mask and approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded the victim's cell phone and wallet. In all of the incidents, the offender warned the victims not to report the robbery to the police. 

Offenders are described as male African American, 20 to 30 years-old, 5'08" to 6'02", weighing between 180-190 pounds. 

Robbery Incidents

  • 2900 block of W. Schubert Ave. on Nov. 17 at 9:50 p.m.
  • 1400 block of N. Leavitt St. on Nov. 18 at 9:17 p.m.
  • 1500 block of N. Hoyne Ave. on Nov. 24 at 7:05 p.m.

Residential burglaries were mainly in beat 1434. In these incidents an unknown offender made entry into the victim's residence, fleeing with the victim's personal belongings. 

Residential Burglary Incidents

    • 1900 block of W. Wabansia between Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. and Nov. 10 at noon.
    • 1800 block of W Wabansia on Nov. 8 between 9 and 10 a.m.
    • 1700 block of N. Wolcott on Nov. 20 between 8 a.m. and 7:45 p.m. 

In garage burglaries, an unknown offender entered the garage and targeted bicycles, tools and small engine equipment. The offender then left the scene. 

Garage Burglary Incidents

    • 2800 block of N. Milwaukee Ave. between Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
    • 3100 block of N. Kedzie Ave. on Nov. 19 between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m.
    • 3100 block of N. Sawyer Ave. on Nov. 19 at 9 p.m. 
What you can do
  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Pay special attention to any suspicious subjects loitering in the area.
  • If you are confronted by an assailant, remain calm.
  • Ensure that the residence's windows and doors are secured
  • Save and surveillance video which captured incident or possible offenders.
  • Never pursue an assailant.
  • Call 911 immediately and provide a detailed description of the offender(s) including any vehicle description and license plate information.
