Three shot during two drive bys


In two separate incidents, two men and one woman were shot during drive bys on Tuesday evening, June 2 in Chicago Police Department's 14th District. 

The first was at 6:10 p.m. in the 2700 block of W. Wabansia in Logan Square. Three men were standing on the sidewalk when a white SUV approached going westbound. 

Firing from inside the vehicle, two men on the sidewalk were shot. 

One received a gunshot wound to the right hand and was taken to AMITA Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, 2233 W Division St., in good condition. 

The second victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right thigh and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital, 1969 W. Ogden Ave., in critical condition.

The third man attempted to remove a handgun from his person and sustained a gunshot wound to the testicular area and was taken to Stroger in critical condition. 

In the 2500 block of W. Division Ave., at approximately 7:20 p.m., a 22-year-old woman was walking with two acquaintances when she was struck by a stray bullet from an unknown male Hispanic inside a silver Chrysler Caravan who was exchanging gunfire with an unknown male Hispanic on foot.   

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was driven to Saint Mary’s before being transferred to Stroger where she is in critical condition.   

No one is in custody for either incident and Area Five detectives are investigating.
