Chicago Grand Neighbors Association welcomes new board
At the Chicago Grand Neighbors Association (CGNA) quarterly meeting Tuesday evening, Mar. 6, in Output, 1758 W Grand Ave., Andy Perdue was elected to a three-year term as President.
Judith Gethner is taking another term as Vice President and
continues in his position as Treasurer.
Outgoing President Lyn Wolfson served for six years.
While Sara Bemer has worked and lived in West Town for several years, she is new to the West Town Chamber of Commerce. She introduced herself to the group as the new Chamber Membership Director and explained that the Chamber is interested in economic development and interested in existing new and existing businesses.
Members shared their various concerns about the commercial streets and encouraged interaction with the community groups. One member also expressed the belief that it would be good if the area was better branded and marketed.
Several questions were raised about whether the Harvest Design Festival would come back and interest in maintaining a local festival which catered to families, not like the other area beer and music fests.
