Blue Line service changes and temporary station closure this weekend


According to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), the Blue Line service will be have increased capacity in and out of the Loop tomorrow, Sat., Jan. 18, to accommodate Women's March Chicago 2020 event as well as construction and two station closings through Jan. 31.

Trains between Forest Park and O'Hare will be longer on Saturday between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Boarding changes between California and Belmont
From Fri., Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. to Sun., Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. 

Board and exit on the Forest Park-bound platform at the Logan Square station

Trains in both direction will operate on the same track between California and Belmont, which may cause slight delays. It is advised to allow extra travel time. 

This work is being performed to ensure safe operations along the Blue Line. 

Chicago Station west entrance stairway temporarily closed
Until Jan. 31 or completion

The west street-to-mezzanine entrance stairway at the Chicago Blue Line station, on the southwest corner of Chicago and Milwaukee will be temporarily closed. 

Enter and exit the station via the remaining stairways, at Ogden and Milwaukee Avenues, northwest corner (on the island in the intersection) and on the north side of Chicago between Milwaukee and Ogden Avenues.

For your safety, only cross streets at crosswalks. 

This work is part of the Your New Blue modernization program.

Grand Ave.Station's south entrance stairway will be temporarily closed
From Mon., Oct. 28 to Mon., Dec. 9 or completion

The north street-to-mezzanine entrance stairway at the Grand Blue Line station, on the northwest corner of Halsted St. and Milwaukee Ave. will be closed. 

Enter and exit the station via the remaining stairway on the southwest corner of Grand, Halsted and Milwaukee. 

For your safety, only cross streets at crosswalks. 

This renovation on the Grand Blue Line station is part of the Your New Blue modernization program.
