Blue Line services changes through July 24

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) recommends that riders allow extra time for travel during two service changes through July 24. 

CTA reminds riders to practice social distancing, as a precaution against spreading COVID-19. 

Boarding change, delays between Grand and LaSalle

Nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. next day
Fri. July 17 and Sat., July 18 

Board and exit all trains on the O’Hare-bound side of the platform at the Clark/Lake, Washington, Monroe, and Jackson stations. 

Trains in both directions will operate on the same track between Grand and LaSalle.

This work is addressing signal improvements, allowing trains to operate more efficiently along the Blue Line as part of the Your New Blue modernization program. 

Boarding changes, delays between Cumberland and Jefferson Park  

From Thurs., July 23 at 11 p.m. until Fri., July 24 at 4 a.m.

Board and exit on the O'Hare-bound side of the platform at the Harlem (O'Hare branch) station. 

Trains in both direction will operate on the same track between Cumberland and Jefferson Park. 

This work is being done to ensure that trains continue to operate safely along the Blue Line.
